History of the Bavarian Sportsman's Club
The Bavarian Sportsman's Club was founded back in late 2008 by a group of dedicated outdoorsmen, Robert Anderson, Mat Cervantes and Henry Browning as a means for our local United States Army Garrison-Bavaria Soldiers, Family Members, Civilians, Contractors and Local Nationals to get out and enjoy the outdoors while stationed and living here in Europe. Since those early days the club has grown into a well-known vibrate, family-friendly club that sponsors and supports the many outdoor recreational activities that is abound here in German and surrounding countries.
The Bavarian Sportsman's Club provides an array of different activities including but not limited to hunting, fishing, sports shooting, archery, mountain biking, canoeing and camping. Throughout the years, the club has hosted and supported numerous community initiatives and events, and continues to do so today.
Our members have collectively volunteers thousands of hours in and around our Grafenwoehr community with programs such as kids fishing/camping nights, hunting and fishing course instruction, hunting blind demonstrations, game processing classes, traditional archery and 3D tournaments, Red Cross CPR classes, shooting seminars, flint napping and knife building classes, fishing in Europe demonstrations and many many more.
In May of 2019, the Bavarian Sportsman's Club received garrison commander approval to operate as a private organization (PO). Becoming a PO is a huge step forward as the club can now recruit members, receive donations, and conduct fundraising activities. With a well storied past, all of us at the Bavarian Sportsman's Club are looking forward to creating an excellent future for our community and members.
